TRACK REVIEW: Painted Palms / Refractor

Painted Palms have released another single off of their sophomore LP, Horizons (Out September 4th on Polyvinyl Records). The duo’s sound has definitely grown and developed since their last release, Forever.

Beating synths and reverb soaked vocals make come together to make a nostalgic punch to the face, but in a good way. Manipulated vocals over instrumental parts are a great addition to the song, as they add another unique element to make it memorable.

Painted Palms haven’t lost their loved sound from the last release but it has changed and matured but has not lost its charm. The new album is highly anticipated and we hope that it’s as good as the last album but the sophomore slump can get to the best of bands.

OVERALL “REFRACTOR” GETS A 6/10
