TRACK REVIEW: Skylar Spence / I Can’t Be Your Superman

The artist formerly known as Saint Pepsi, now known as Skylar Spence, has released another single off of his highly anticipated debut album, Prom King, (Out September 18th on Carpark Records).

Like past singles, Ryan DeRobertis has released a super catchy song that is still extremely different from past material but also retaining the same signature sound. Both electronic and disco influences are easily heard within the song that make it another timeless track and the only problem I have with the track is that the fade out in the end is executed a bit awkwardly but that doesn’t detract from the rest of the song at all. DeRobertis has definitely made a great foundation for this album so far with the singles and we hope that the rest of the album builds upon it well.

Overall, Skylar Spence has been bringing us more and more promising material and we hope this trend continues to the album. We highly anticipate this album and you should too because Ryan DeRobertis has created the perfect formula for catchy and timeless songs that many others will try to imitate.

OVERALL, “I CAN”T BE YOUR SUPERMAN” GETS A 7.5/10
